Estos cables son aptos para todo tipo de conexiones industriales de baja tensión, redes eléctricas urbanas, instalaciones en edificios, etc. Su gran flexibilidad facilita enormemente el proceso de instalación, por lo que resultan especialmente adecuados para aplicaciones de cableado complejas. Pueden enterrarse o instalarse en conductos, así como en exteriores, y también pueden utilizarse para el alumbrado público, el suministro eléctrico a edificios, equipos marítimos e instalaciones de generadores.
