LIYCY-TP-Twisted-Pair-Kabel eignen sich für mobile Installationen in trockenen oder feuchten Umgebungen. Sie eignen sich außerdem für Anwendungen mit geringer mechanischer Beanspruchung, ohne mechanische Zug- oder Druckbelastung sowie für nicht strombetriebene Mobilität. Sie sind jedoch nicht für den Einsatz im Freien geeignet.
Diese Kabel werden häufig als Steuer- und Signalkabel in Computersystemen, elektronischen Steuergeräten, Büromaschinen und Messgeräten eingesetzt. Denn die verdrillten Adernpaare reduzieren das interne Übersprechen im Kabel. Und das verzinntes Kupfergeflecht verhindert elektrisches und elektromagnetisches Übersprechen.
