PVC Cables
What is PVC Cable
PVC, Polyvinyl Chloride, is a common insulating plastic used in the insulation and sheathing of cables. PVC cables are favoured by various cable manufacturers for their low cost and durability. In the face of different environments, there are also corresponding PVC materials for manufacturers to choose from, such as heat-resistant PVC, high-temperature PVC, low-smoke halogen-free PVC. In this article, I will briefly introduce the characteristics of the different kinds of PVC materials.
Heat-Resistant PVC
Heat-resistant PVC is usually referred to as V2. The cables made of this material are heat-resistant and flame-retardant, with a temperature range of up to 105°C. They are suitable for use in switching controls, relays, and control panel connections for power switches, and battery connections.
Common models include H05V2-K, H07V2-K, H05V2V2-K.
Low Temperature Resistant PVC
The low-temperature resistant material PVC is usually expressed as V3. Cables made of this material are resistant to low temperatures, with a temperature range that can reach -35℃. These cables are more suitable for low-temperature areas, especially in Canada, Russia, and other regions.
Common models include H05V3-K, H07V3-K, H05V3V3-K.
Oil-Resistant PVC
Oil-resistant PVC is often referred to as V5. This material is oil-resistant, grease-resistant, chemical-resistant, and flexible. It is very suitable for industrial and mechanical equipment, power supply, and signal control equipment cables.
Common models include H05VV5-F.
Low Smoke Halogen-Free PVC Cables
Usually, when PVC material burns, it releases halogens, which are toxic and harmful to the human body. To address this, the market developed LSZH material PVC (strictly speaking, this may shall not be called PVC material). This LSZH material cable, when burning, does not produce toxic gases and has a certain degree of UV resistance. However, it should be noted that these cables are not soft.
Common models include H07Z1-K, H05Z1Z1-K.
Summarising
