KVV-Kabel gehören zu den Steuerkabeln, die wir oft als PVC-isolierte Steuerkabel bezeichnen. Sie werden in der Regel für die Verkabelung von Steuer-, Signal- und Messsystemen verwendet.
Die Nennspannung beträgt 450/750 V bzw. 0,6/1 kV. Bei langfristigem Betrieb des Leiters darf die maximale Betriebstemperatur 70 Grad nicht überschreiten, und die Umgebungstemperatur bei der Verlegung darf nicht unter null Grad liegen. Soll der Leiter in einer Umgebung mit Temperaturen unter null Grad eingesetzt werden, muss er vorgewärmt werden.
Geeignet für feste Einbauten, wie z. B. in Innenräumen, Kabelgräben und Rohrleitungen.

Dieses Kabel dient als Verbindungsleitung für Steuer- und Schutzleitungen in Industrie- und Bergbauunternehmen sowie im Energie- und Verkehrssektor. Es ist allgemein als Steuerkabel bekannt und wird hauptsächlich in Kabelgräben, Rohrleitungen, Schächten und anderen ortsfesten Einrichtungen mit hoher mechanischer Belastung eingesetzt.
