What does RVSP Cable mean?
RVSP cable is a shielded twisted pair cable in Chinese standard. Its full name is pure copper PVC insulated PVC sheathed twisted shielded flexible cable. The letter in RVSP represents a key feature of the cable:
- Letter R: Stands for “soft conductor,” indicating a flexible wire.
- Letter V: Stands for “insulator,” made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC).
- Letter S: Stands for “twisted,” twisted core wire
- Letter P: Stands for “Shield,” made of copper
The full name of RVSP cable is: PVC Insulated, PVC Sheathed, Twisted-Pair, Shielded Flexible Copper Cable.
The twisted core construction reduces crosstalk within the cable.
The copper braid shielding protects against electrical and electromagnetic interference.
Characteristics of RVSP Cable
RVSP cable is composed of the following parts:
- PVC Sheath: Provides protection and durability.
- Flame Retardant: Helps prevent fire hazards.
- Rated Temperature: -40º C to +80º C.

Example: RVSP 2×2×0.5mm refers to every 2 core wires twisted, a total of 2 pairs of twisted core wire, each core size is 0.5 square. PVC insulated, PVC jacketed, copper braided shield.
