1. What is PVC Cable?
Pvc cables are cables insulated and sheathed with PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride).
VDE Code: Y, YW (high temperature resistant PVC), YK (low temperature resistant PVC).
As the most common cable insulation material, PVC is widely used in low-voltage wires and cables. It has good physical and mechanical properties, oil and corrosion resistance, and is relatively low cost. It has sufficient electrical properties, flame retardant, weathering properties.

PVC is a material with good properties, flame retardant and low price. However, please note that PVC is NOT a low-smoke, halogen-free material. It may not be suitable for some special facilities and places, such as hospitals, schools and other crowded important places.
3. Applications of PVC Cables
PVC cables are widely used in various places, such as: switch panels, power cords in home offices, wiring in public places, power cords for portable tools, power cords for home electrics, cables for lighting LEDs, battery cables, and so on.
However, it is important to note that generally PVC is not used in high voltage cables (more often PE or XLPE). It is easy to deteriorate under high temperature or light.
